God is laughing.

“The kings of the earth rise up and the rulers band together against the Lord and against his anointed, saying, “Let us break their chains and throw off their shackles.” The One enthroned in heaven laughs; the Lord scoffs at them.” – Psalm 2:2-4

God is laughing.

God, who is King over the entire Universe, whose very word shaped the worlds and keeps them in their orbit, this God, is laughing.

Why?

Maybe He really does see victory and redemption in all things.

Maybe God is calling us to come up higher and understand that in the midst of trials, in the midst of situations that haven’t yet bowed their name to Jesus, we don’t have to give into despair.

We can be joyful.

We can see Jesus, lifted high, ruling and reigning, inviting us to see our circumstances from His perspective as co-heirs with Him on the Throne.

And what happens when we see Him?

1 John 3:2 says that when we see Him, we shall be like Him.

So if God is laughing in utter victory, when we catch a glimpse of Him, we will be too.

“Then my head will be exalted above the enemies who surround me; at his sacred tent. I will sacrifice with shouts of joy; I will sing and make music to the LORD.” – Psalm 27:6

When all your friends seem to have left you, when you feel despair creeping up on you regarding your circumstances, when you feel like you have no faith, rest on Papa’s lap, where you’re seated, and listen to the laughter pouring from the Throne.
